Terminal Information – Arriving
Faro Airport is located just 6 km from Faro and takes approximately 10 minutes by car. Transport options are limited to car hire, taxi and local bus. Lines 14 and 16 run from the airport from 5am to 11pm to various parts of Faro. The 20 minute bus costs just €2.40* for a single fare.
At the airport customers can exchange currency, withdraw money, take advantage of 30 minutes of free WiFi internet, use a post office and purchase drinks and food from the range of snack bars, cafes, bars and restaurants in the terminal. A newsagent, fashion boutiques, delicatessen and duty free area provide plenty of shopping options. There are also a number of car hire firms operating from the airport terminal.
You need to bring your passport with you when you’re flying out-with the UK. There are printers in the check-in area of Faro Airport, so there’s no need to panic if you forget to print your boarding pass. If you have a smartphone you can store your boarding card electronically on your phone, security can scan the e-barcode, and you don’t need to worry about paper at all.
We recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport, so try not to arrive any later than one hour before your flight is due to depart. Queues at security are longer at weekends and during school holidays, so it’s worth giving yourself some extra time.
