Ryanair operate a direct flight from Dublin to Warsaw in Poland.
Terminal Information - Departing
For flights to Warsaw, you'll be flying from terminal 1 in Dublin. This is the larger terminal of the 2 in Dublin Airport. You can grab a drink and a snack from the cafes prior to departures, or you can wait till you're on the other side to dine at Butler's, The Gate Bar, The Garden Terrace or Street Feast – there are foodie options here for every diet. If you're there late at night, McDonalds is also open 24 hours.
When it comes to shopping at Terminal 1, you're spoilt for choice. Jo Malone, House of Ireland, Pandora, MAC and Dixons all have outlets here. If you need some R&R, pay €20 to chill out in the airport lounge for 3 hours. Alternatively, you could make use of the free Wifi, power points and plentiful seating around the airport. Buggies are also available to hire if you are travelling with small children.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Warsaw's Airport is well organised and modern – you can expect a short walk on arrival to baggage reclaim and passport control. Once you're through here, you can make use of the free Wifi throughout the airport. There is a small cafe on arrival, so you can grab a bottle of water before the next leg of your journey. There are also ATMs, an information desk and a currency exchange.
The airport is well connected to Warsaw by bus, train and taxis. Taxis and transfers depart from outside Modlin Airport anytime there is a flight arriving. It costs around 159zł for a one way trip into the city centre, and it costs slightly more from 12pm to 6am.
You can also grab a green or yellow shuttle bus to get to Modlin Train station, which offers a variety of connections around Poland. You can catch a train into the centre for around 17zł, which takes 50 minutes.
The most affordable way to get into the city is via hopping on the Modlin Bus, which costs 9zl if booked in advance. It will cost 30zl if you book at the airport. You will need Polish currency to purchase this. The bus has Wifi, and the journey takes 40 minutes.
Practical Information
Beware when researching your destination, as there is another Airport in Warsaw (the Chopin Airport). You should arrive 2 hours prior to your flight to Poland.
What to expect in Warsaw
Warsaw use the Polish currency, Zloty, and at the time of writing 1 Euro is equal to 4 of these.Warsaw is much cheaper than Dublin, with drinks and dining out being extremely affordable in comparison. Drinks usually only cost a few Euros, which makes it a brilliant weekend away.
