Terminal Information – Departing
Glasgow Airport has recently been renovated, and it’s a medium sized airport – making it very easy to travel through. There are also a handful of shops, restaurants and lounges to relax in before your flight. British Airways fly in Terminal 1 in Glasgow Airport.
If you’re a business traveller, you may want to invest in the UpperDeck Lounge. This costs £20 to access for 3 hours, and you’ll receive 4 alcoholic drinks, plenty of snacks and free Wifi.
Passengers do receive an hour of free Wifi, but if you’d like more time online it costs £3 or £9 for 3 hours or 24 hours. You are also free to use the printers, ATMs, and currency exchange in Terminal 1.
There are also plenty of places to eat in Glasgow Airport. Caledonia Restaurant, Frankie & Benny’s, Starbucks, The Sanderling and the Deli Kitchen all offer tasty and fresh food options. You can also stop by Jo Malone, Bobbi Brown, duty free, WHSmith, Boots, Accessorize or Dixons whilst you’re browsing round the airport.
How to get to Glasgow Airport from Glasgow City Centre
Taxi is one of the most popular ways to get from Glasgow City centre to the airport. It costs £21. For a one-way fare, and will take less than 20 minutes.
The 500 shuttle bus is the cheapest way to reach the airport from Glasgow City Centre. This bus runs every 15 minutes past the hour, every day of the week – apart from Christmas day. A one-way ticket costs £4.95, which you can buy from the driver, or online in advance.
Terminal Information – Arriving
London Heathrow is one of the busiest and biggest airports in the U.K, and British Airways operate in Terminals 3 and 5. Whilst it is a large airport, navigating it on arrival is easy – there are sign posts to the underground, taxis and car hire booths. There’s also a M&S, café, WHSmith and currency exchange on arrival, most of which are open from 6am to 10pm.
How to get from London Heathrow to London City Centre.
The best way to get from Heathrow to the centre of London is by using the Underground. The tube runs regularly from London Heathrow to West London, and into the city centre – taking less than 40 minutes journey time.
Purchase an Oyster Card on arrival if you plan on travelling within London, or a day ticket if you’re just there for 24 hours. An Oyster card can be purchased at the machines in the train station at Heathrow, or on the counters. There’s a £5 base charge, then you can top up as you please (a one-way ticket in London costs between £1.60 and £5.70, depending on which zones you are travelling between). Oyster cards can be used on bus, train or underground.
Taxis are also available at London Heathrow, but not advised if you are travelling to the city centre. The average cost is £45, and that will escalate depending on traffic and destination. However, if you are travelling to Twickenham or Richmond it may be an easier alternative to public transport. Uber is currently the most popular ride sharing app in London.

What to expect in London
