Carcassonne is just over an hour’s drive from Toulouse Airport. To get there take the Rond-Point d'Amsterdam road out of the airport, get on to the A621 and continue to the D901. Take the exit on the left towards Bordeaux and merge onto the A624. Exit for the E9 and merge onto the A61 to Montpellier which is also a toll road. Take exit 23 for Carcassonne and follow signs to the historic centre.
Surrounded by stunning landscapes, Bordeaux is famous for its wine. Tours of its vineyards is one of the best ways to see the magical countryside. It takes just over 2 hours to reach Bordeaux from Toulouse but it is worth the drive through some spectacular wine-producing countryside. To get there take the Rond-Point d'Amsterdam toward the A621 to Toulouse and exit towards Bordeaux. Merge onto the A62, which is a toll road, towards Paris and take the exit for the E72 to Bordeaux.
Known as the ‘Ville Rose’ or ‘Pink City’, Toulouse is a vibrant and cultural city perched on the languidly beautiful Canal du Midi. It has a picturesque old quarter with museums, artist squats and circus acts and is home to some of the finest food markets in the region. It takes just 20 minutes to reach Toulouse from the airport by car. To get there take the Rond-Point d'Amsterdam from the airport and head towards the A621. Take the first exit on to the Avenue d’Elche and follow signs to Toulouse centre from here.
On street parking in Toulouse is charged from Mon-Sat from 9am to 8pm with a maximum parking time of 2 hours. The cost is form €0.20 for 20 minutes and up to €1.59per hour. Parking is free on Sundays and during the first two weeks of August but that doesn’t mean there will be spaces available! Outside the city centre area the parking duration is limited to 4 hours at a rate of €1.00 per hour. Unlimited parking is available in public car parks at €2.20 per hour. Some hotels in Toulouse have car parking; usually this costs extra.
