Getting to your destination

We’ve put together a quick guide on getting to the most popular destinations from Venice Treviso Airport.

Lake Garda

Lovely Lake Garda is a magnet for wine lovers with its lush vineyards surrounding the region. Culturally diverse, Garda, rather wonderfully, boasts culinary influences from Austria, France and Italy while traditional farmhouses and spa towns dot the beautiful bucolic landscapes. The shores of the lake are where tourists go to relax and swim and sail before settling down to an evening of fine dining in the cool fresh air.
Lake Garda is just over 2 hours from Venice Treviso Airport. Get on the SR 53 then take the A4 towards the A22 and exit for Lake Garda. Get on the SS240 and follow the signs to the lake.

With its medieval marketplaces and oldest university in Italy, Padua is a lovely combination of historic and modern. Its student population keeps it young and vibrant with its cafes, bars and restaurants overflowing with chatter by night. By day, its remarkable architecture recalls the Golden Age, with its frescoes, chapels and wondrous works of art and sculpture.
Padua is less than an hour from Venice Treviso Airport. Take the SR 53 and get on to the A27. Exit for the A4 then the E70 exit for Padua. Follow signs to the centre.

Venice is the very definition of opulence. To think it started life as a lagoon or swamp is almost unimaginable and yet, a city of marble and exquisite beauty rose up from these unlikely surroundings. Breath-taking architecture lies around every corner from the Bascilica di San Marco to the Gallerie dell’Accademia. The food is exquisite, if not overpriced. A coffee and ice cream heaven awaits in Venice. Canal side bistros and prosecco serving restaurants with sea views fill the city. Venice drips with priceless jewels and buildings and works of art woven into the fabric of the city’s misty winding streets and hidden passageways while its carnevale atmosphere is hard to beat. Venice must be seen to be believed.
It takes just 35 minutes to reach Venice from the airport. Get on the SR 53 and merge with the A27 in Silea. Follow the A27 to teh A57 then exit for Venice. Follow the Via della Liberta to Ponte della Liberta.
You cannot take your car in to Venice as it is a pedestrian only zone therefore you need to park your rental car beforehand. There is parking at the edge of the historic center on Tronchetto (an artificial island that was designed for parking) in a private garage for €21 per day or at the Piazzale Roma (the last stop for cars, taxis, and buses that arrive in Venice) for €30 per day. The public lot at S. Giuliano (in Mestre; a short bus ride to Piazzale Roma, then vaporetto) costs €12 per day.
