Venice is the very definition of opulence. To think it started life as a lagoon or swamp is almost unimaginable and yet, a city of marble and exquisite beauty rose up from these unlikely surroundings. Breath-taking architecture lies around every corner from the Bascilica di San Marco to the Gallerie dell’Accademia. The food is exquisite, if not overpriced. A coffee and ice cream heaven awaits in Venice. Canal side bistros and prosecco serving restaurants with sea views fill the city. Venice drips with priceless jewels and buildings and works of art woven into the fabric of the city’s misty winding streets and hidden passageways while its carnevale atmosphere is hard to beat. Venice must be seen to be believed.
It takes just 35 minutes to reach Venice from the airport. Get on the SR 53 and merge with the A27 in Silea. Follow the A27 to teh A57 then exit for Venice. Follow the Via della Liberta to Ponte della Liberta.
