There isn't much to the town of Kochkor itself, but it is a place to overnight, get a hot shower, stock up on supplies to take with you up into the hills.Naryn Region around Kochkor there are several hikes and lakes and great possibilities for horse trekking. Son Kul is very popular among travelers for horse treks and even as an independent hike. The two/three-day trek up to Kol-Ukok (Lake) and beyond is another excellent option from Kochkor. As for the town itself, Kochkor has a bazaar and one decent cafe that I know of. There is pretty nice Lenin monument to check out as well.
It's a village about 5-hour drive away from Bishkek. The village is surrounded by high mountains, which provides a great atmosphere! A lot of outdoor adventures start from here.
