Picture book pretty... food amazing... a lot of history... well worth investigating if in South Africa... Cape Province
Winetasting in Stellenbosch is really amazing- beautiful nature and a lot of good, local wine
Cute little village loaded with Art Galleries and restaurants. Also right by the famed vineyards.
The heart of the South African winelands, and less than an hour's drive from Cape Town, the university town of Stellenbosch is a quaint, quiet, charming little place to crash out for a few days sampling the finest in South African oenology (that's wine, btw!). Set in dry velvety mountains and rolling hills covered with grape arbor, the town has a wealth of fine restaurants, shops and galleries, like a taste of Napa without all the snootiness. You can visit the wineries from Cape Town as a day trip, but consider staying here for a night or two just to enjoy the atmosphere.
