Where to hire a car at Dalaman Airport
There are two car hire companies with desks at Dalaman Airport: Budget and Europecar. Both have desks are inside the terminal, so you don’t need to go far to pick up your car.
Petrol stations near Dalaman Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
Luckily there is an Opet petrol station just 5 minutes by car from the airport terminal. Simply get on the D555 airport road and follow it round to the left where the petrol station will be on the right hand side.
Driving around Dalaman Airport
Dalaman Airport is well connected to the region’s main road which is the D400 highway. This is the major road of Mediterranean coast and passes by the town centre about 1 km to east and then connects it with Fethiye in the south and Marmaris and onward to Muğla in the north.

Kalkan is approximately 2 hours north of Dalaman Airport by car. Take the D555 from the airport, get onto the D400 towards Antalya (part of this is a toll road) and continue towards signs for Kalkan.
With its pretty harbour and party atmosphere, it’s no wonder Marmaris is a popular resort. Hilltop castles, museums and an atmospheric old town leave plenty of room for exploring while the bars, clubs and lively restaurants make for some wild Turkish nights. Beaches, blue seas, festivals, markets, and hiking trails also make Marmaris a great family destination.
Marmaris is just an hour and a half from Dalaman Airport. Take the D555 from the airport towards the D400 and just follow signs for Marmaris.
While Istanbul is the major Turkish attraction, Dalaman comes a close second – and for good reason. From paragliding in warm blue skies and sunbathing on white sands to paddling in balmy Aegean Seas and lakes and hiking in the mountains, Dalaman is an outdoor playground. It is also home to the rare rare loggerhead turtle and blue crabs. It takes just 10 minutes to reach Dalaman from the airport. Take the D555 from the airport terminal and take the second exit from the roundabout. Follow signs for Dalaman centre.
Parking in Dalaman is generally free with many spaces available by the side of the road. If you want something safer, some resorts and hotels in Dalaman may offer free parking.
