Wizz Air Flights

With their distinctive pink and purple livery, you can't miss Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air when you arrive at the airport. Wizz Air destinations are mainly in Eastern Europe, and they fly to a total of 117 destinations with their fleet of 75 aeroplanes. They operate the Wizz Discount Club offering member discounts on baggage and fares. If you join the club you can extend your discounts to your travel buddies, and if you opt for premium membership you'll get access to special offers and discounts. Although they don't currently offer any routes originating in Ireland, Wizz Air do offer flights from Belfast to Kaunus and Vilnius in Lithuania and Katowice in Poland.

How to Check In

You can check in online for free from 30 days before departure up to three hours before your flight. Check in via mobile app is also free, but you'll need to pay €30 if you want to check in at the airport. You can book this in advance, in which case it'll only cost €10. Some airports don't support mobile or online check in, and in these instances airport check in is free of charge.

Punctuality

Wizz Air are fairly punctual, with flights from Belfast Airport (the nearest airport to Ireland which they fly from) reporting an average delay of just over seven minutes for the first three quarters of 2016.

Seating

The Airbus A320 flights have 180 economy seats, each with a seat pitch (the space between your seat and the one in front of you) of 30-32" and a seat width of 18". The slightly larger Airbus A321 sits 230 economy passengers, with the same pitch and width as the smaller aircraft. This seat pitch is about average for economy airlines.

Booking Fees

Wizz Air have an admin fee of €8 for bookings made via their mobile app, call centre or automated systems. There's a credit card fee of €2.50. They also charge €1 for text message confirmation, and €3 for a paper invoice.

Service on Board

You can purchase hot drinks, snacks, sandwiches, soft drinks and alcohol through the onboard Wizz Cafe service. There's also a duty free Wizz Boutique on-board shopping experience, selling branded products as well as Wizz Air merchandise.
