Petrol stations near Santander Airport
Depending on your car rental agreement, you may need to hand your car back with a full tank.
The nearest petrol station to Santander Airport is the Javel Oil Corporation which is a 15 minute drive from the airport. Take the N636 from the airport and head for the S10 to Santander. Merge onto the S10 and exit for the N623. Continue on to the Calle Jose Simon Cabarga and the petrol station will be on the left hand side.
Driving around Santander Airport
Santander Airport is well connected to the region’s main roads. Santander is just off the A8 motorway which crosses the north of Spain along the coast. Bilbao is to the East and Oviedo to the West. The S20 bypass goes down towards El Sardinero while the S30 links the S20 directly with the A8 in the Bilbao direction. The A67 motorway heads south towards Torrelavega, Reinosa and Madrid. The A8/A67 will take you right into the centre of Santander. It is also possible to drive to France and Portugal easily via the main highways.

Torrelavega is just 20 minutes by car from Santander Airport. Take the N 636 from the airport and take the S10 exit towards Torrelavega. Exit the S10 for the A67 and follow signs to Torrelavega.

Bilbao is just one hour from Santander Airport by car. From the N636 out of the airport, take the S10 exit. Merge from this on to the A8 towards Bilbao. Take the exit for the N637 and continue on this road until you come to exit 14 towards Bilbao. This is a toll road. Continue following signs for Bilbao.

It takes just 10 minutes to reach Santander from the airport. Take the N636 form the airport and take the S10 exit. Stay on this road and follow signs for Santander centre. On street parking in Santander is almost impossible to find. It is charged from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Friday. There are a range of car parks which charge for long stay parking. The cost depends on the area but is from €2.00* per hour. Some hotels in Santander also offer free parking.
