LOT Polish Airlines Flights

LOT Polish Airlines is the flag-carrying airline of Poland. It's also one of the world's oldest airlines, having launched their first flight in 1929. Their main hub is at Warsaw Chopin Airport, and from there they fly to more than 60 destinations. LOT offered flights from Dublin from 2004 to 2007, but the route has been discontinued. As of 2017, LOT don't offer any direct flights to or from Ireland. If you want to fly with LOT Polish Airlines, the closest route is from London-Heathrow to Warsaw. As a member of Star Alliance, LOT Polish Airlines are able to provide codeshare flights with a number of other airlines. It also means they're part of the Miles & More frequent flyer rewards programme.

LOT Polish Airlines have a range of awards to their name, and were awarded the title of 'Best Central and Eastern European Airline' by Business Traveller magazine for 17 consecutive years. They also have the distinction of being one of the safest airlines in the world, and one of the most punctual. Their cabins have three classes: economy, premium economy, and business class.

Why Fly LOT Polish Airlines?

How to Check In

LOT Polish Airlines offer online check-in from 24 hours before departure up until 120 minutes before. You need your reservation or ticket number to check in, along with your surname. You can either print off your boarding card at home, or have it texted to your phone. In-person check-in is available at the airport, and for Schengen flights you can also check in over the telephone. LOT also offer automated check-in. If you want to use this service you'll need to tick the 'Automatic Check-in' box no later than 25 hours before departure. LOT will check you in and email or text you your boarding card. The service is activated automatically with no need to register for passengers travelling Business Class or Premium Economy, holding a Star Alliance Gold or Silver membership, or if the group includes children under 12 years old.

You can pre-book your favourite seat for a small fee. This is €5* for flights within Poland, €10* on short-haul trips, and €20+ on long-haul journeys. Seat selection is free for Business, Premium Economy, and Miles & More HON Circle and Senator members. Seat pitch (the distance between your seat and the one in front) is a fairly generous 31-32 inches in economy class, with a seat width of 17-18 inches depending on which aircraft you're flying on.

Booking Fees

LOT Polish Airlines don't charge a booking fee when you buy your tickets online. There's a £20 charge if you book through the airline's call centre (as LOT Polish Airlines don't currently fly from Ireland, the charge is based on flying from the UK).

Service on board

Complimentary food and drink is served on board all LOT Polish Airlines flights. Economy passengers on short-haul routes (six hours and under) can enjoy a complimentary snack, or purchase something more filling from the LOT Gourmet menu. On long-haul flights, economy passengers can supplement their meal with bar snacks and alcoholic drinks from the LOT Sky Bar menu. As for in-flight entertainment, passengers can flick through Kaleidoscope magazine. Business class passengers enjoy films, TV shows and music reflecting the unique cultures of the countries which LOT flies to. If you need a bit of extra space to stretch out, LOT Business Class offers extra comfort and privacy to passengers. Premium Economy is the perfect balance, offering a bit of extra luxury without the large price-tag.
