Philippine Airlines Flights

Philippine Airlines (previously known as Philippine Air Lines) is the flag carrying airline of the Philippines. Founded in 1941, Philippine Airlines is the oldest operating airline in the whole of Asia. Philippine Airlines fly to 31 domestic destinations and 41 international destinations. Popular overseas destinations include China, Australia, the United States, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Philippine Airlines has codeshare agreements with several airlines, including Emirates and Etihad. Passengers flying with Philippine Airlines can earn points through the airline’s frequent flyer program: Mabuhay Miles. Points can also be earned and used on PAL Express, Philippine Airline’s subsidiary airline.

Philippine Airlines do not currently offer flights to the Philippines from Ireland. If you would prefer to fly with Philippine Airlines, the nearest place you can do so is from London Heathrow Airport.

How to Check In

Check in is available both online and at the airport. Online check-in is available from 24 hours before your flight’s departure time until 1 hour before. Alternatively, you can check in at the airport. For domestic flights, it’s recommended that you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. For international flights, such as those between Europe and the Philippines, it’s recommended that you arrive at the airport at least three hours before your flight’s departure time.

Note: Some routes do not offer online check-in. This includes flights going to and from Dubai and flights going to and from Xiamen.

Seating

For long-haul flights between Europe and the Philippines, Economy Class passengers can expect a seat pitch of between 31 and 33 inches. Business Class passengers can expect more legroom: between 45 and 70 inches, depending on the aircraft type.

Seats can be reserved in advance. Prices for advanced seat selection vary depending on the route. Seats can be reserved when booking your Philippine Airlines flight online.

Booking Fees

Philippine Airlines do not charge additional booking fees when you purchase flights online.

Service on board

Meals, snacks, and drinks are served onboard all Philippine Airline flights lasting 45 minutes or longer. In Economy Class, meals are a blend of traditional and Philippine fusion dishes. Philippine Airlines regularly invite guest chefs to collaborate with them and create new in-flight meals. In Business Class, Western, Filipino, and Japanese Kaiseki dishes are available. Alcoholic drinks are available to all customers, but in Business Class menu options extend to champagne, cognac, and sake (for flights to and from Japan).

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Hand Luggage:All passengers can bring one piece of hand luggage on board, weighing no more than 7kg. The dimensions of your hand luggage should not exceed 115 cm.

Checked Luggage:Baggage allowance varies depending on the flight route. If you’re flying from London, you’re entitled to two 23 kg pieces of checked luggage in Economy Class. Business Class passengers are entitled to two 32 kg pieces of checked luggage.
